Orders can be picked up or sent nationwide in New Zealand. Orders can be paid for by credit card for pick up, or for orders being shipped, you can complete the order and the invoice for payment will be sent after the freight cost has been calculated. After receiving the invoice with the freight cost, you can decide if you wish to go ahead with the order, or cancel it. Once payment has been received, we will send your order. We send plant orders Monday and Tuesday nationwide, and on Wednesday to urban North Island addresses. Non-perishable items are sent Monday to Friday.

This is one of the most common varieties. The Hass avocado is well suited for frost free areas of New Zealand. Bearing fruit regularly after 3 to 5 years with a rich nutty flavour, oval shape, medium sized fruit with a pebbled skin, dark when ripe. Protect from wind and frost, in a well drained soil. Grows to H 5m x W 4m. Hass is a group 'A' flowerer. Rootstock: ZUTANO
Avocado trees need a free draining soil, full sun and be sheltered from the wind.
Current size: 1.8-2 m high. PB6.5 bag.
Note: Avocado varieties are sometime referred to as being either ‘A’ type flowerers or ‘B’ type flowerers.
The avocado flower has a period when it opens as a female, and a period when the same flower opens as a male. The ‘A’ type flowerer opens as a female on the first morning, closes and opens as a male the next afternoon. The ‘B’ type flowerer has the opposite pattern. Pollination is helped in cooler areas if you have avocados from both group A and B varieties.
