Orders can be picked up or sent nationwide in New Zealand. Orders can be paid for by credit card for pick up, or for orders being shipped, you can complete the order and the invoice for payment will be sent after the freight cost has been calculated. After receiving the invoice with the freight cost, you can decide if you wish to go ahead with the order, or cancel it. Once payment has been received, we will send your order. We send plant orders Monday and Tuesday nationwide, and on Wednesday to urban North Island addresses. Non-perishable items are sent Monday to Friday.

A handsome, sub-tropical evergreen tree selected for its tasty, cannon ball fruit. Fruit matures from December until April. Fruit remains green when ripe. Predominantly self fertile, although cross pollination with Fuerte or Bacon may improve fruit set. Mulch heavily and water as required. Feed regularly during spring and summer with a high nitrogen fertiliser. Prune to shape and size. Reed is an 'A' type flowerer. Rootstock: ZUTANO
Avocado trees need a free draining soil, full sun and be sheltered from the wind.
Note: Avocado varieties are sometime referred to as being either ‘A’ type flowerers or ‘B’ type flowerers.
The avocado flower has a period when it opens as a female, and a period when the same flower opens as a male. The ‘A’ type flowerer opens as a female on the first morning, closes and opens as a male the next afternoon. The ‘B’ type flowerer has the opposite pattern. Pollination is helped in cooler areas if you have avocados from both group A and B varieties.
