Welcome to Trees for Bees Nursery online shop!

Orders can be picked up or sent nationwide in New Zealand.  Orders can be paid for by credit card for pick up, or for orders being shipped, you can complete the order and the invoice for payment will be sent after the freight cost has been calculated. After receiving the invoice with the freight cost, you can decide if you wish to go ahead with the order, or cancel it. Once payment has been received, we will send your order. We send plant orders Monday and Tuesday nationwide, and on Wednesday to urban North Island addresses. Non-perishable items are sent Monday to Friday.

Product Details

Dark red/black fruit (similar to a boysenberry) about 15mm long. Fruit form on year old wood. Will fruit in 2 years. Habit: Cross between Morus Alba x rubra. Fast growing deciduous tree with large oval serrated leaves. Size: Upright tree reaching 6 x 6 metres over 10 years. Pollination: Flowers appear early spring. Small yellow/green pendulous catkins separate male and female. The male is more slender than the female. Both appear on the one tree. Self fertile and wind pollination. More than tree will increase fruit set. Harvest: Ideally spread a cloth below the tree and let fruit drop onto this as crop can continue for 3 months. Daily collection is ideal.
